Immediate, visible and natural rejuvenation can be achieved with the injection of temporary dermal fillers.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural, major component of our skin. Its hydrating, lubricating and viscoelastic properties make the face well rounded. When injected into the lines and creases that appear with age, it can restore a youthful appearance by filling them out. It may also be used to augment facial volume.
Dermal fillers can also be used to define and volumise the lips, again restoring a more youthful appearance.
The amount and type of filler used is carefully selected to suit the area being treated and the effect the patient wants to achieve. There is no down time with this treatment; there is minimal discomfort with the effects being seen over 7-14 days and lasting between 3-6 months. Over this time there is a gradual return to normal.
After application of a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area, the product is carefully injected into the skin. There is minimal down time and discomfort. Immediate effects are seen. Initially these effects last 6-9 months, but can be increased with successive sessions, as the effects are cumulative.
Dermal fillers can be used for the following:
- Facial lines and creases
- Volumising and softening contours of face
- Increasing lip volume
- Defining lip outline
